Private Lessons: The Follow Through

Remember what you said at the beginning of this year, 2022? You said you were going to dedicate time to yoga, right? My question to you is: how many times have you practiced yoga this year? If you said none, or barely that’s cool. You know why? A wise friend of mine said, “It’s not about how you start, it’s about you finish”, those words stuck with me beyond spin class and all the way over into everyday life.

I’m not concerned about the ambivalence others have towards creating, manifesting, and starting New Year Goals. That’s a personal decision and I respect that. However, goals aren’t compiled SIMPLY for The New Year (or at least not in all cases.)The New Year sets the tone for reflection, to identify our goals realistically,to set realistic completion dates for those goals, and to determine where you stand on your principles of success in your endeavors over time.

Yet, Here we are in the month of December and I don’t know your thoughts on this, but for me 2022 has come and gone in the blink of an eye. If you didn’t accomplish all of your goals in 2022 (I sure didn’t!), there’s always a chance to bounce back, and start over again. I know, starting over again is something we dread, but if you're serious this time, when you gradually improve your level of consistency, you'll continue to progress in your practice towards those goals.

As we head toward 2023, I want to guide you and keep you consistent in achieving your yoga wellness goals. What most people don’t understand about yoga, is it’s not just a bunch of poses to look cute. You breathe through each pose to provide oxygen through your blood, strength to your bones, and flexibility in your muscles. The breathing also supplies oxygen to the brain, helping us think clear and peacefully. It would be a complete shame for me not to offer you techniques that have soothed my suffering in many ways. I have created various tools for your success in achieving your yoga goals through yoga styles such as: Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative yoga. My sole purpose as your instructor is to teach you the purpose behind your practice, so that it is more enriching and enlightening.

If group classes aren’t your vibe, that’s cool. Join me for a 1:1 virtual zoom sessions. These sessions are one on one, it's a judgment free zone, and the goal is for you to leave the meeting feeling a little more mentally, spiritually, and emotionally improved, than you did prior to the session. Currently, private sessions are available on Thursdays and Fridays with time slots opening from 5PM EST to closing at 11 PM EST. Slots are secured on a first come first serve basis, so reserve your slot for a time that works best for you before that slot is filled right- here.

Be sure to check out the healing motions calendar to stay up to date on latest events and classes. On this Calendar, you’ll have the deets on everything from daily affirmation, to class availability, and community zoom yoga class dates, and more. Stay on the look out, on our facebook page at Healing Motions for a monthly release Calendar and what’s happening for that and the upcoming weeks ahead. The 2023 Calendar will be released on January 1st, keep an eye out on that. In the mean time, if you want to start practicing and getting a feel for what's to come in your private sessions, peep these "stepping into" videos, created to help you understand safe and effective ways to breath and transition through your yoga asanas.
