Mind + Body Connection: Panel Discussion


Hey Yogi's; Carla here and there's so much to say. Where to start?:


Greatfully, I had the honor of being a panelist on a mental health awareness panel Connecting the DOTS, LLC, where a safe place was provided to discuss topics surrounding the challenges of battling a mental health diagnosis or caring for an individual and/or loved one who may be challenged with a mental health disorder.


Convieniently, this event was virtual and online and it was such an amazing vibe; from the attendees, to the panelist, we all connected as one and did the thang. Being surrounded by so many professionals like: licensed therapists, nurse practictioners, and social workers, who were open to holistic methods of managing mental health like: using yoga and mindfulness as a form of medicine, was astonishing!


Our health care profressionals, on the panel also resonated with the mind and body connection in lieu of psychotherapy; people who are ambivalent to medication management; and, for those who are on medication to use yoga and movement as an additional theraputic activity. So many lovely people joined us during this discussion and participated in the discussion.


Connecting the DOTS, LLC is an outpatient mental health provider stationed in Columbia, Maryland is partnered with Healing Motions Yoga. Together, we bridge the gap between mental health and physical health one person at a time, by showing the connection of the mind and body throught physical movement.
