Establishing Trust: For Yogi's and Yoga Instructors

This isn't some fairy tale land where we pretend, that things aren't what they really are and truth be told, it's a challenge to trust anyone in the social climate of psychologically linked media. At the end of this blog, you'll understand the five (3) basic concepts, of developing trust with your yoga teacher and/or yoga students.

  1. If you're a new student in a yoga class, engage your teacher and try to get to know them as much as they want to get to know you. This is a reciprocative effort and one action is relies on the other to balance the harmony amongst each other and it levels out the vibe. Yoga teachers, keep your new students engaged and show them that you are an extension of their practice and you want to see them succeed by any means possible.

  2. Learn your teachers. Schedule and plan your next class with them. Let's be real and let's look at it this way- when you're dating someone you're interested in, you're going on more than one date. Apply this concept when choosing your yoga teacher, go to several classes and get a feel of their flow and vibe and determine if you rock with it. Each teacher is different. Yoga teachers- try and be as flexible as possible with your students. Most students would prefer online and our goal is to serve our students at their convienence. This establishes a firm commitment on both sides of the student-teacher relationship.

  3. Allow your teacher to challenge you and teachers challenge your students. Add a variety of types of yoga with different themes to represent the vibes, or the outlook for the week. Keep track of your emails for information from your yoga teacher on when the next classes will be held and how you can register. You may even find some hidden gems in these news letters.
